An unexpected find on my last trip to Payson was a burnt forest.  It's a relatively small part of the forest that was burnt, but the texture and bleakness was amazing.  Apparently the fire almost consumed a neighborhood of homes up there, but fortunately it was contained.  The little pieces of trees sticking out of the ground were like little fingers reaching up.  It reminded me of the final circle of hell as described in Dante's Inferno where the worst sinners were frozen in ice up their necks and satan in the center of it all flapping his wings.  The weather on this particular day was pretty cold, but Ashley bared through it to shoot some cool shots.  Below are the shots of Ashley in the Forest of the Dead:
