Payson

I went up to Payson today.  I needed to get away from this heat.  I can't believe summer is only starting.  When I left payson I was actually chilly.

So I worked with Catherine up in Payson.  This is our 11th or 12th shoot.

Maternity Photos

Today was my first ever maternity photoshoot.  I'm trying something a little more commercial.   I'm hoping it brings in a few commercial shoots.  This shoot was with Amber at Saguaro Ranch Park in Glendale, Arizona. It was a really cool location. At some point in the past it used to be a dairy farm so they still have a lot of old buildings there.  The first time I shot there was 11 or 12 years ago when I was a senior in high school.  I liked the location, but wanted to shoot people there instead of just buildings.  I shot there again two years ago.  It's a great spot, but they did remove this really cool water fountain.  It would have been perfect, we were really sweating out there today.  It would have been great to have a fountain to dip our feet into.  There's also a bunch of peacocks and roosters all over the place.  It was so hot the peacocks mostly stayed inside and the roosters were crowing the entire day.  It would have gotten annoying if it weren't for the fact that whenever a rooster crows it just sounds silly somehow.  Especially when they do it in the middle of the day.  There's a certain ambiance when they crow at sunrise, but after that, they just sound silly.

Anyways, here are a few of the photos of my photoshoot with Amber.

Audio / Video

I was listening to this instrumental song by Rob Dougan. The song always makes me think of the song at the end of Cast Away with Tom Hanks.  The scene when he's standing in the four-way intersection, deciding where to go.  While I was listening to the song, I realized I really like music, but I like movies more and I like movies more because of the visual aspect of it.  I find a lot of music that's from movie soundtracks or ones that have music videos because for some reason I relate better to the visual emotion portrayed and relate to auditory emotion when it's tied together with something visual.  It's like the song reminds me of what I felt while watching a particular movie or music video. I guess I do that much more than hear a song of sadness and it makes me think of sad things in my life.  At least not right away.  Sometimes that happens, but it takes a much longer time.

New Site Up

You may notice my site has been updated.  I'm always tinkering with my site.  I think I'm going to keep it in this layout for a while although, I may still mess around with the colors and background images.
