Underwater Photography

Summer is starting.  As hot as it gets here I prefer to go swimming.  It's the only outdoor exercise that's enjoyable during the summer time.  Pools make a very interesting studio to work in.  I've been working on directing poses.  You can't give the same kind of pose directions underwater that you do in the studio.

Blackberry

Woo hoo! Now my site is blackberry compatible. I can update it on the road.

More Overlay Experiments

I like things simple. Simple shapes, colors.  It makes it easier to see what's there. It's like when you drive far enough away from a city and all the city lights and you start seeing more and more stars until you realize there's an entire universe there hidden beyond what our eyes can't see.

Experimenting with Overlay

I tried experimenting with overlaying a floral design on this photo.  The angle of the image seemed to lend itself to the pattern.  The image starts in the lower left corner and leads the eye in a semi circular pattern counter clockwise right to Nixi's face.  It would be nice if I was better at compiling more complicated images, but I like simple, stark images so it all works out.

Setting off the smoke detector during a shoot

And I don't mean it figuratively.  First, seeing fire eating first had is super cool.  Second, it doesn't really work inside with smoke detectors around.  So you won't be seeing many upcoming images of that.  I only got a few shots really quickly before the detector went off.  I think next time, outdoors will work a lot better.

Anyways, this is Nixi. This is the first time I've worked with her.  She is a lot of fun to shoot and is working on becoming a photographer also.

More Payson Photos

I still can't get my rss feed from flickr to work right.  From what I can tell, it's because my account has been rated as moderate by flickr staff and I don't have a paid account.

Web 1.0 are regular websites,
Web 2.0 are community sites like myspace, flickr, facebook, etc,
Web 3.0 is probably going to be a connection of everyone's sites - like google extreme so that every independante appears just like connected community sites.  That way the control that flickr, myspace, and them have over your content just goes away.

Anyways, here are some more photos of the lovely Catherine up in Payson.
